RPM Déjà vu Motorsport Ltd. and the Connacht Motor Club are proud to announce that the money raised at their recent Déjà vu North West ‘24 event is a record in the history of the ten Déjà vu Motorsport reunions that have been run to date.

“We have been overwhelmed at the generosity of the entrants, the sponsors, and the public who came to watch them on the 26-27-28 April 2024. Their donations have enabled us and the Connacht Motor Club to gather this very significant amount for the families of Gene McDonald and Dáire Maguire.

It was the outstanding co-operation and initiative of the Connacht Motor Club and the support from organisations such as the Sligo County Council, Sligo BID, Sligo Retail Park, Sligo Park Hotel, Ocean FM, Motorsport Ireland and the Garda Siochana that made the weekend so successful.

The addition of ‘SF Planes, Cars & Coffee’ on the Sunday morning in co-operation with Sligo Airport where we combined their Breakfast Fly In with a display of our entrants cars was a new intuitive that greatly added to the enjoyment and the charity take on the weekend.

Jointly we have gathered this record-breaking sum of €75,000 for a  very worthy cause.” Alan Tyndall and Alan Graham RPM Déjà vu Motorsport Directors.

“Connacht Motor Club are delighted with the outcome of this project and wish to thank RPM Déjà vu Motorsport for the opportunity to co-host Déjà Vu North West ‘24 in Sligo.

The event provided us with an opportunity to remember and to celebrate Gene and Dáire with RPM Déjà vu Motorsport and to gather this substantial fund which will be divided between Justine and Breda.

I wish to thank everybody who supported the project in so many different ways. Our sponsors, FAAC Simply automatic, Sligo Pallets, Devaney Recovery Service, SF Engineering and Martin Reilly Motors.

The various organisations and businesses who assisted us, Motorsport Ireland, Sligo BID, Sligo County Council, the Garda Siochana, Ocean FM, Sligo Retail Park and the Sligo Park Hotel.

The businesses who took adverts in the Souvenir Programme and the retail outlets who facilitated us by selling it. The public who purchased it in great numbers and Bernard Gallager of CBM Signs who encouraged us to produce such a quality programme and who also assisted with the advertising sales, printing negotiations and distribution.

The event participants (both for the Tour and the Gala Dinner), and particularly those who were extremely generous and Donagh Kelly of The Stables Motorsport Centre which facilitated the lunch halt on the Tour, a significant factor in the event being oversubscribed.

Donegal Town where the cars re-grouped and particularly the organising team from our Connacht Motor Club for their support and their efforts in ensuring that the event ran efficiently.

The assembly of motorsport personalities and cars in Sligo on that weekend together with the relaxed and positive atmosphere in the sunshine ensured the event will remain a highlight in the history of the Club for many years.” Robert Lyttle, Connacht Motor Club.
