Easter was the Circuit of Ireland Rally for so many of us in our youth. For five glorious days we trekked after our heroes over mountains, down bog roads and along our shores.
We watched, serviced, timed and marshalled the high speed train as it travelled through Good Friday night on its way to Kilarney or Waterford. We partied before and after the Sunday Run and survived on little sleep before we headed, bleary eyed, back north again on Easter Monday and Tuesday.
Relive the history of our most renowned motoring event from its inception to the heady World Rally Car years on RPM’s CIRCUIT OF IRELAND HEROES box set.
Part I – The first fifty years
